I love looking up at the night sky to see the stars; for years I’ve wanted to be able to capture the sense of magic and wonder that I feel through my photographs. I am still working on my night photography, but made improvements this July, when I took a trip to rural New Hampshire to practice. During the two nights I spent lakeside, I was able to practice on two different subjects; cloudy and clear night skies. While I wish I had a second night of clear weather, I think the clouds added depth and texture to my photographs. Between the twinkling lights on a calm lake under the starry sky and the misty, swirly clouds moving across the night sky, I was able to capture some moments in nature that look almost surreal.
