I have been playing with new ideas to work on in my photography. I captured a few various photos that focus on use of lighting (unfinished examples above). In the future I will be exploring food photography, as well as a series on places.

(Week July 8th to 22ed)These last few weeks I have been contacting photographers and looking up events to photograph. I talked to a New Bedford based photographer, John Maciel, about photographing two different types of weddings coming up. The first wedding will be taking place on July 28th at the Roger Williams Park, RI. I will be a lighting assistant for the ceremony and then photograph the events following. After the meeting, he let me borrow a macro lens to practice macro photography.
During my free time, I have been researching places and events around New England. I have found a few events that are coming up in the next month and some places I will be photographing for my portfolio. [June 23rd to June 30th week]Towards the end of June I was contacted by On the Spot Photo Magnets with an opportunity to photograph a conference in Boston, MA. The conference was to highlight the ongoing campaign by America’s Credit Union “Open Your Eyes”, where people could come get a head shot taken for “opening their eyes” to a credit union.
During this four day long event, I was involved in taking black & white photos of attending visitors from across the country. Visitors were instructed to show a way to "open their eyes”, then encouraged to come back later in the day to pick up a personal magnet to take home with them. Over the course of this photo shoot 300+ photos of people were taken. After the event concluded, I was thanked by On the Spot, and was told I will be contacted again in the near future for events happening in Boston.
