This past week, I have invested my free time in improving my photography. I want to get my name out there and show off my work. In order to do that, I am first going to start with improving my editing skills and making my photos more a narrative. I bought several photography books, one about how to edit photos in light room and Photoshop. Though I’ve taken a photo editing course which included both programs, I feel like I’ve reached a point where I need more information to move forward in this ability. I refined a few of my photos by lighting them up and defining the details. In my work as a Photographer for O’Connor Studios, I gained valuable experience in portrait photography. By observing more experienced coworkers, I’ve picked up on both technical and interpersonal skills which have helped me get better portraits. Knowing that little kids love to move around a lot, while older children care more about their looks, is essential to make them feel comfortable and get the perfect photo. All of the knowledge I’ve gathered from the books and my job is helping me to get excited about and build ideas for a few portrait photo shoots.
